Jon Saxe
Mr. Saxe is currently a director of a number of private and public biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including Durect Corporation, Sciele Pharma Corporation, InSite Vision and PDL BioPharma, Inc. Mr. Saxe is also chairman of Entelos, Inc. From January 1995 to May 1999, Mr. Saxe was President of Protein Design Labs, a leading company in the development of humanized antibodies. Mr. Saxe was President of Saxe Associates, a biotechnology and pharmaceutical consulting firm, from 1993 to 1994. He served as President, Chief Executive Officer and as a Director of Synergen, Inc., acquired by Amgen, from October 1989 to April 1993. From 1984 to 1989, Mr. Saxe was Vice President, Licensing and Corporate Development at Hoffmann-LaRoche and also head of the patent law department and Associate General Counsel at the company from 1978 to 1989. Mr. Saxe received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, a J.D. from George Washington University School of Law and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law.
Pierre-Etienne Weber
Pierre-Etienne Weber is a veteran pharmaceutical industry expert, having spent most of his career with Hoffman-La Roche. He joined the company in 1971 and after serving in a number of different commercial functions and management roles, he was appointed Senior Executive Vice President of Pharmaceuticals Operations International in 1992. At the same time he was a member of the boards of Roche India, Roche Pakistan, Roche Israel, Roche South Africa, Roche Nigeria and Roche Poland. In 1999, he became the head of Global Marketing for Roche Vitamins and Fine Chemicals as Senior Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Roche Vitamins Ltd / DSM Nutritional Products Ltd. In 2004, he started his own consulting business specialized in management consulting, organization and human resources.
